Welcome to the website of the 27th International Conference on Low Temperature Physics
We are pleased to announce that the 27th International Conference on Low Temperature Physics (LT27) will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, during August 6-13, 2014.
The Low Temperature Physics Conference is an international event held every three years, under the auspices of the IUPAP through its Commission C5 on Low Temperature Physics. These conferences aim at the exchange of information and views among the members of the international scientific community in the general field of Low Temperature Physics, promoting the excellence of invited and contributed presentations. It is a tradition that LT offers updates on the various topics, provided by the highest representatives of the field, as well as oral and poster contributions in the different areas.
The 27th LT Conference is hosted by the Department of Physics of the University of Buenos Aires and the Institute of Physics of Buenos Aires CONICET, that together constitute an important research centre in Argentina and Latin America. This is the first conference of the series that takes place in South America; the city of Buenos Aires as a cultural and touristical metropolis, with its stylish European architecture, belle époque atmosphere of café society, literature, tango saloons, theatres and fine dining, introduces special attraction. Also, Argentina has an extensive list of pre and post conference tour options, including Ushuaia and Patagonia in the South, the Andes region to the West, tropical rainforest and wildlife in the spectacular Iguazú falls in the Northeast, and the charm of country life in "estancias" close to Buenos Aires city.
